The Story

The incarnation of the original RUF Turbo prototype was revealed by RUF in 2013 with the RUF RtR. Offered with a narrow-body and wide-body, the RtR features an extraordinary hand-crafted chassis and carried a wide stance as standard presenting a truly dynamic on-road presence. The additional torsional rigidity provided by the Integrated Roll Cage (IRC) enables the RUF RtR sports car to achieve the best levels of stability for handling and performance without compromising daily-drive comfort which is a characteristic of every RUF built at Pfaffenhausen. 

At high speeds, increased down-force came from the motorsport-derived carbon fibre rear spoiler, while impressive braking was attained by carbon ceramic discs, measuring 410mm front and 390mm rear, with six-piston calipers on the front discs and four-piston calipers in place on the rear.

The power-train was a well-proven 3.8-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder unit and was available with 645hp or 802hp depending on the user’s preference. The 645hp option was available with both manual and PDK transmissions and the 802hp was available uniquely with the six-speed manual gearbox.

The RtR could be specified with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive layout coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox or PDK transmission. This powerful machine was easily recognisable by its characteristically large, round air intakes in the carbon fibre front valance.

The RtR was available in both ‘Narrow’ and ‘Wide Body’ styles to give the option of either an understated or more aggressive look to the car.
